In a snow-blanketed garden, the body of a young woman is discovered, clad in provocative lingerie — a chilling crime that suggests a sexually motivated murder. The case falls to the idiosyncratic Commissioner Holina, a man who follows both his instincts and the unconventional guidance of his ex-lover Sabina — a psychologist and astrologer.

As Holina investigates the murdered Anh’s inner circle, the trail leads from the bustling SAPA market, where rival vendors clash, to a shadowy nightclub staffed by scantily clad girls. But when he encounters a mysterious shamaness and an odd engineer who can't count, Holina begins to suspect that Anh’s death hides secrets far stranger than anyone imagined.
