Kidnapping Home
Screenplay: Iva Procházková
Director: Ivan Pokorný
A film adaptation of a literary story that has been published and translated several times.
Teenager Libor lives with wealthy relatives after the death of his parents, who provide him with all the material security but no emotional support. Libor becomes the victim of a kidnapping and blackmail, but he manages to escape. He finds his way into a family that opens its arms to adoptive children. The love and family relationships that he has not known for a long time force Libor to play a double game. Until the very last moment, it is unclear how this story about searching for a true home will end.
Director Ivan Pokorný cast the then-unknown Vojtěch Kotek in the lead role, for which he won the Golden Dudek at the International Ota Hofman Festival for Children.
The film also received the Bonton Award at the Zlín Film Festival 2002.
The film is available on iVysílání in the Česká Televize media library.
